Hello,
I too finally have Fox Sparrows in my yard. There have been 4 here since
Sunday, which is also a high number for my yard. The Juncos are dwindling,
as are the White-throated Sparrows. And everyone else is singing "Spring,
Spring, Spring!"
I also want to mention, especially to Bonnie Ott, that National Geographic
has a film now available called Watching Sparrows, that can be gotten from
www.birdfilms.com or by calling 1-800-343-5540. It is done by a couple from
the Eastern Shore of VA, and they traveled over 27,000 miles to cover the
46 North American species. Imagine, they went all the way to Inuvik, Alaska
to film the Harris' Sparrow! :) I have not viewes the film, but it sounds
interesting.
