Also heard my first frogs of the year, Spring Peepers. I've been keeping an ear out for frogs at one pond without success, but heard these frogs at a different pond. So I don't know how long they have been calling there. I've not noticed any frog-related reports yet on PaBirds this year. In my limited experience there tend to be frog reports in PA in late February to very early March. Maybe I missed some earlier reports. Also, am seeing more beaver sign at Patuxent this year than ever before (during portions of the last 8 years). Tonight I think I encountered 5 different beaver, including 1, and almost certainly 2, in the Patuxent River, a first for me. Mark W.
