MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Today, between 1:30 and 2:30 pm, I saw a total of 10 (at least) Red-necked Grebes 1) between Memorial Bridge and 14th Street Bridge on the Virginia side (a pair close to shore); 2) in Washington Channel (a pair and two singletons, close to shore pretty far down Hain's Point from the Marina area); and in the Tidal Basin (a solitary, pretty close to the Potomac outlet and a trio, close to the Channel outlet - all feeding near shore). I remember the RB Grebe irruption nearly 10 years ago. It seems to me that this year's is later and more prolific than the last one. There were also several RB Mergansers, several DC Cormorants and single Horned Grebes, both in the Channel and in the Tidal Basin. ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
