There is an on-line art auction going on at auctions@haleysteele.com These prints are from the royal octavo edition of Audubons Birds of America, an edition from 1859. They are lithographs from an early volume of a popular book from just after Audubons death (1851). They come with a certificate of authenticity, with starting bids at $50. Some very desirable prints are still available for very good prices. The auction ends on March 25, so check it out now. It started earlier this week (Monday, March 10). Two prints I looked at this morning which caught my eye, without bids on either as of this morning, were Canvas Back Ducks (with Baltimore harbor in the background), and Swamp Sparow (Bonnie!) perched on flowering May apple. Very beautiful. I have bids in on a few, and purchased the Eskimo Curlew for $80! P.S. NORM, the Osprey print was still available this morning and is very beautiful too.
