I visited one of my favorite spots on Boog Rd. near my home after dropping my son off at school this morning. It is a cow pasture which right now looks more like a swamp! There were 10-12 Killdeer mingling with 30 or so Red-winged Blackbirds, about 100 Grackles and maybe 25 Robins. The Killdeer were displaying all over the place. I also heard a couple of Song Sparrows singing. And to top it all off, there was a Red-tailed Hawk sitting in a tree in the middle of the field, surveying the whole deal. This is also a great spot for peepers, but none heard yet.
