New Members. I would like to announce the new members of the MD/DCRC. They are: Don Broderick, Salisbury, MD JB Churchill, Morgantown, WV Patty Craig, Lexington Park, MD These new members will serve three-year terms, ending in 2006. The committee would like to thank the three members who have just completed their three-year terms. They are Marshall Iliff, Fran Pope, and Paul Pisano. Paul was appointed to serve out the remainder of the term of Rick Blom, who passed away in December. The continuing members and the years of their term expirations are: Jonathan Alderfer, 2004 Barry Cooper, 2005 Matt Hafner, 2005 Bonnie Ott, 2005 Paul O'Brien, 2004 (Chair) Bob Ringler, 2004 2. Annual Meeting Minutes 2003: The minutes of the recent MD/DCRC Annual Meeting have been posted to the MD/DCRC web pages in PDF format. This document, and all others mentioned below, can be found at the MD/DCRC web pages at: http://www.mdbirds.org/mddcrc/rcindex.html Thanks to Fran Saunders for posting this material. 3. Review Lists--MD and DC: The committee has split its species Review List into two--one for MD and one for DC. Previously, there was only a combined review list for both jurisdictions. We hope that by publishing separate lists, we can better focus on the avifauna of DC and make the review status of its species more focused and more clear to those with an interest in DC birding. The new Review Lists can be found on the MD/DCRC web pages as PDF documents. Thanks for Paul Pisano for coordinating the new DC list, with support from Rob Hilton, Ottavio Janni, and Dave Czaplak. 4. Updated MD/DCRC Database An updated abridged version of the MD/DCRC database has been posted to the web site. This view of the database combines MD and DC records. A group of new entries have been added from the files of the DC Records Committee that operated in the early-mid 1980s. These entries carry a status code of DCRC (DC Records Committee) without any differentiation of acceptance or non-acceptance at this point. Work on these records is still ongoing. This database report is a PDF document. The next time I update the web pages, I will probably separate the DC and MD data. 4. ID and Reference Article Index: A update to the committee's index of identification and reference articles has been posted to the web pages (also in PDF format). 5. Recent Package Summary: An updated listing of the contents of recent review packages has been posted. You may note that a number of packages are shown to be in circulation. Due to Rick Blom's health and passing, a number of packages stalled, but they are being completed now. 6. Official Lists of MD and DC Note that these lists have not been updated. The committee will be publishing them shortly in a new format. I will advise MD Osprey when these new lists are posted. If anyone as comments on questions on these items or any questions about the MD/DCRC, please feel free to contact me or Paul O'Brien, the committee chair. Thank you.
