All Ospreyer's are invited to post their owl sightings so that they can be used as atlas observations. An owl heard consisitently at the same place at least 4 days apart, or duetting, counts as a "Probable" breeder. Like Gail, you can find in advance what block you live in by viewing (for PG Co) the PG Atlas page at http://home.earthlink.net/~fwfallon (or, for Ho Co), http://www.geocities.com/howardbirds/howardbba.html. where the blocks are conveniently superposed on street maps. From these you can also gauge your "quarterblock", i.e. the NW, NE, SW, SE quarant of the block, which is also of interest. From there, you can send a message to the county coordinator and/or the caaptain for that particular block. All County coordinators also follow postings on Osprey.
