This time there were about 700, viewed from several locations on both sides of Back River and both upstream and downstream of the Eastern Blvd. bridge. So numbers are building but it's not yet peak. Unfortunately, no Little Gulls although in checking his notes from 2001 (when we had 10 L. Gulls over a two-week period, Barry saw that the first ones that year were found at the end of March. So folks should continue to visit and check this area in coming weeks. They did find one Red-necked Grebe just downstream of the highway bridge.
