This was a new DC bird for us! We didn't spend much more time at the Arboretum, but noticed that the flocks of robins which were all around last weekend seem to have moved on. A couple of Phoebes at a bridge, two Hooded Mergs and a couple of Wood Duck on a pond were about the only other species of note. We didn't see any sign of Paul Pisano's Fox Sparrows. We then went over to Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens, where we enjoyed two Great Egrets in their breeding plumage, also some more Wood Duck, Common Mergansers (all females) and a Green-winged Teal, plus a vocal Phoebe and two Tree Swallows over the marsh. No hoped-for Rusty Blackbirds. They are building a branch off the boardwalk which will face a large reedbed -- not sure when it will be ready as only the framework is in place now.
