Subject: DC sightings - 3/22 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit The high river level with lots of debris sent the RED-NECKED GREBES into Washington Channel & the Tidal Basin again. This afternoon (Sat, 3/22), I counted 11 in the Tidal Basin and c.10 in the Channel. Also in the Tidal Basin were 4 HORNED GREBES, c.30 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, and 8 LESSER SCAUP. On the river there were c.6 BONAPARTE'S GULLS mixed in with the Ring-billeds. Good birding, Paul Pisano Arlington, VA cheep@erols.com ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
