Observations: An astonishing day culminating in our second highest daily total ever = and more than doubling our daily Turkey Vulture record! While we thought = the day had good potential, we were overwhelmed by the numbers. Turkey Vulures streamed by in 30's, and 40's. The raptor flight was steady the entire day - there were always birds in the sky - and didn't abate until = 5 p.m. Apparently these birds had been held up by the several days of inclement weather to our south and were raring to go once the skies cleared. One Red-necked Grebe and 80 Horned Grebes. =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D Report submitted by Sue Ricciardi (susier@starpower.net) Fort Smallwood Park is located on the western shore of Chesapeake Bay at = the mouth of the Patapsco River, 11 miles south of Baltimore, MD.
