MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit I realize that Red-Necked Grebe sightings have become fairly commonplace this winter, but... This morning Nancy called me to look out our back window at two birds on Swantown Creek - yup, a pair of red-necked grebes. Swantown Creek is a 250 foot wide, tidal, fresh-water tributary of the Sassafras River. Didn't these birds read Sibley - "Winters mostly on deep, open water"? Anyway, they are our best backyard birds yet!
