MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi Folks! In several places along the Potomac River - Frederick & Washington counties - Red-necked Grebes were most likely to be found feeding near shore below the overhang of trees. At the Mouth of Monocay they were under the aquaduct. Just abouve Dam #3 they were usually within 8 feet of the shoreline. Just last Sunday, two were in the C&O Canal by Dam #4. There were not diving diving but probing ... almost like dabbling ducks. I wonder if they were after crayfish? I got some video, but if I used full magnification much of the bird was not in the frame! Good Birding!
