Fran Saunders MOS State Web Site Director http://www.MDBirds.org Silver Spring, MD I saw a LEYE at the northend of Kingman Marsh today. Also saw Tree Swallow for the first time there this year as well as at KAG. Saw 2 ruby-crowned Kinglets at Kingman. There were 9 Green-winged Teal probably in migration at Kingman Marsh. On the Anacostia side of the golf course I had 2 Brown Thrashers and 2 juncos. There were also 2 Common Mergansers at Kingman. A pair of Eastern Phoebe were sighted on the boardwalk at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens. The extension to the boardwalk should be completed by the end of April. Myrtle Warblers were sighted along the River Trail at KAG. A researcher at PWRC said there are 3 pairs of OSPR starting to nest build on the Anacostia. I have seen Fish Crow being territorial and in courtship flight and American crow gathering nest material. There have been a pair of Red-shouldered Hawks observed at the Lower Kingman Island for the past few weeks in a row. Mary M.
