Comments: cc: Charles Kucera MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi Folks, I was driving around rural Baltimore Co. in the rain this morning, and drove past a male Ring-necked Pheasant on Gunpowder Rd., just southwest of Pretty Boy Reservoir. The bird stood about 50 feet away in an open grassy field on the south side of the road, and crowed a couple times as I slowed down to get a look. The location was just west of Georges Creek Rd., Balt. Co. ADC Map 5 G5. Though not yet within safe dates, this might be of future atlas interest. I looked for turkeys mentioned by Gail Frantz in the vicinity of Glens Falls Rd., and walked the RR tracks a short way, but did not find any. What gorgeous habitat, though. Phoebes were singing, and bluebirds were claiming their nestboxes.
