He called the bird a "Harlequin Macaw," of which there is no mention in Cooper and Forshaw or Juniper et al. So I presume this to be some kind of hybrid. In any case, the bird was lost o/a 29 March in western Howard County (I don't have more specific locational info than that). It's 4 year old and answers to the name of "Rudy." If anyone spots a Macaw in Howard County or neighboring counties, please contact me off list. The owner has contacted police, humane societies, etc. But only we are out there looking in the trees for birds. And if any one knows just what a "Harlequin Macaw" is, please let me know.
