Some days there are two. this morning was the last time one has been seen. Yesterday I took some time to bird the forests of Elk Neck State Park north Turkey Point. I was hoping for early migrant passerines but didnt find too much in that respect. The resivour behind the camping area held a pair of Wood Duck and at least 20 swallows consisiting of 15 Tree Swallows and about 5 Northern Rough-winged Swallows. A Towhee was calling from the reed that surrounds the pond. An osprey and an Eagle were both seen soaring over the resivour too. I vetured deeper into the managed hunting area north of the campground and stumbled across an active Bald Eagle nest that as far as I know was unkown previously unknown to any area birders. Parke John is atlasing this area and has been notidfied of the discovery. Lastly, a single calling Great Horned Owl was heard.
