Birds 4/11/03 MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit In my wanderings today in the county the highlights were: 1 Great Egret at a Storm Water Management Pond at BWI The following birds were at Jonas Green Park: 3+ Red-throated Loons (winter Pl.) 1 Common Loon (Breeding Pl.) Lots of Fish crows 4+ Horned Grebes 1 Osprey Carrying a Toadfish Okay a question: How did the Osprey catch a bottom dwelling fish? Possible Answers: 1) Caught the fish in shallow water 2) Fish was caught by a fisherman (and thus injured) and tossed back into the water and was near the surface and the Osprey caught it. Anyone have any other explinations?
