A nice turnout of birders for the beginning birding by ear walk. Not a single migrant but great for practicing on the residents songs. The highlight was an extreme drama between 2 Carolina Wren locked in mortal combat. I have never seen birds fight so fiercely! As we watched the action a Sharp shinned hawk flew in and snatched one of the wrens and flew off with him. A pre-trip foray into the plum tree path turned up 4 SWAMP SPARROWS. A post trip walk around Centennial netted us 1 drake BLUE-WING TEAL and 6 GREEN-WINGS along with 1 GREEN HERON.
