MIME-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT There was a Cormorant Convention at Howard County's Wilde Lake today. There were 13 D-C Cormorants present this afternoon -- eleven on the platforms at the center of the lake and two in the water nearby. Many of the regulars on the path were amazed and curious about the profusion of unusual big black birds. Several, realizing I was a birder by my binoculars, asked me what they were. (One woman said she had seen one in the water and wondered if it was a Loon.) Three adults and one child accepted my invitation to look at the Cormorants through my binoculars. Perhaps someone's interest will be caught by the experience!
