Only a couple COMMON LOONS flew over. Our first CHIMNEY SWIFTS of the season with 2 birds circling the drainage pond. 2 singing COMMON YELLOWTHROATS and an EASTERN MEADOWLARK. I had to acquiesce to the rest of the party and leave the fields to look for warblers. We were well rewarded on Henryton Road with 2 YELLOW-THROATED, 3 NORTHERN PARULA, 3 BLACK-AND-WHITES and 4 LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSHES. GNATCATCHERS increasing in number with 6 birds. The NORTHERN-ROUGH WING SWALLOWS were back at their nesting spot of last year along the river. However we were soon back to the fields at ALPHA RIDGE but by then it was 100 degrees and the bird activity had dropped. We did have an OSPREY flyover.
