Until the 17th, up to 8 Wilson's Snipe were present, including several = "winnowing" at dawn and dusk. They have since departed, but American = Woodcock started "peenting" at dusk as of the 18th. Since that's inside = safe dates, I'll continue to listen for them - hopefully they're setting = up territories. Eastern Meadowlarks now abound, vocalizing from perches, with lots of = chases going on. This morning, April 21st, a Savannah Sparrow was present, vocalizing. I = haven't seen them here for awhile, over the course of the winter. I = presume this one is migrant, taking a rest while it's (very) foggy.
