Some nice surprises included: Purple Martins, Chimney Swifts, Tree Swallows, and PALM WARBLERS. A pair of Louisiana Waterthrush made such a scene as I approached their territory I decided to stop until they calmed themselves. Ten minutes later work resumed on the nest. Only one bird worked; selecting wet or damp leaves and carrying them to a whole in the bank of the stream. The entrance was draped with moss, and had the typical leaf "walkway". An OVENBIRD was singing in the otherwise quite forest - awesome.
