However we did add new "year birds" and had some nice looks at some migrants. Seen or heard: Blue-headed Vireo (6, some very good looks), Yellow-throated Vireo (close views, singing), Myrtle Warbler (~35), Worm-eating Warbler (1), Black-and-White Warbler (1), Ovenbird (2, heard only), Blue-gray Gnatcatcher (30? 35? they seemed to be everywhere), Ruby-crowned Kinglet (4), Chipping Sparrow (15), Eastern Phoebe (1). Many White-throated Sparrows in, they are moving through our area now. We stopped by Woodend, Chevy Chase, on the way home to check out a book and added our first House Wrens of the year (2), plus Parula (1), Common Yellowthroat (1) and still MORE Gnatcatchers and Chipping Sparrows.
