Carroll County, I get but a few cheap thrills a year. One of them comes every April when a handful of Osprey will grace us with a migratory visit on their way north. Inevitably they will take a whack at the lake as they pass by, hoping to grab a quick lunch for the road. Today one was successful. Always a thrill to watch one of these great raptors work right from my front window. As for Mr. Garfinkel and his Eurasian Kestrels. I say he's right. I can tell already, I like this guy. I wish we all had his conviction. Call it like ya see it and be proud. Damn the stuffy experts anyway. I like his style. Won't it be a gas when it turns out he's right? I think the records committee should be prepared to enter two Eurasian Kestrels into the books. I hope they decide to stay and nest. A new breeding bird.
