I haven't heard this yet myself because I'm holed up in bed this week
with a bad upper respiratory infection and bronchitis about the only
good part of which is that it's not SARS. But my friend who lives on
Serpentine Drive in the Snowden Mills complex in the Greater Silver
Spring Area tells me that this morning when he went outside he was
greated by a Mockingbird doing a mediocre rendition of a car alarm --
the kind that goes "bop, bop, bop, ooowwee, oooooweee, ooooweee, bop,
bop, bop." I've heard about things like this before, but I've never
heard them *myself* so I'm hoping the bird is still out singing about
his territory when I finally get out of bed!
