This bird was in a large flock of approx. 25 Yellow-rumpeds. I went about half way through the flock when I spotted the bird working the lower branches of my Maple tree in the back yard. I was only about 15 ft. away. I recognised right away that the bird that I was looking at the western sub-species male in 90% breeding plumage. The yellow throat was most visible and the black bib was much more apparent than in the other Myrtles working the area. The wings had much more white almost melding together. After looking at the bird for a awhile following it through the tree I went in to consult texts to make sure of what I saw. All the field marks coresponded with my identification. It was an Audubon's. Any more questions I'll gladly try to answer.
