I find that I can learn to recognize songs that way, but often can't remember which bird of a group it belongs to. Birding software, like Thayer's Birds of North America, that allows me to see a picture while listening to the song, has been helpful. For some birds, there are even videos of a bird singing! Each spring (like now), I find it helpful to review the songs I haven't heard for almost a year, especially for the less common species. When I go away from the eastern US on a birding trip, I try hard to learn the songs of the birds I hope to see, but that is sometimes so overwhelming that it is of limited use. Practice, practice, practice! Bob Hartman Colesville, MD Kerry Stone wrote: > Hi there, > > Any insight on AviSys' Song Features? Additionally, any suggestions for learning bird song?
