There seems to have been some thrush turnover last night. In addition to the Veery and 4 Wood Thrushes of the past few days there was a Swainson's Thrush and a Gray-cheeked Thrush, the latter apparently of the minimus subspecies. It was noticeably small and uniformly rich reddish-brown in color. At first I saw the tail and suspected Bicknell's, but a full view showed that the reddish color was stem to stern, not confined to the tail. Caution is in order when trying to turn a small Gray-cheeked Thrush with a warm brown tail into a Bicknell's. Paul O'Brien Rockville, Mont.
