Mime-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit Hi all -- I was wondering if anyone has seen a Golden-winged Warbler yet this spring. we are now in the peak of the migration of "winged" warblers (Blue and Golden-) and although we have seen a fair number of B-Ws, we have not seen any G-Ws. Neither have any of the friends whom I've asked. And I don't recall seeing any posted to this list, nor to the Virginia list. This species is, as we know, declining severely. Looking at notes from, say, a decade ago this trend is obvious. In the early 1990s we might see several in a season at Rock Creek, and a couple of times, 2 on a day. In the 1980s, at my old house off upper Sligo Creek Park, a much less productive migratory area than Rock Creek, I saw quite a few Golden-wings in spring and autumn. And with much less intensive birding (I was working!) I know not everyone posts what they see to Mdosprey, so thought I would poll the list members...
