We have done this on the 1st Saturday of May for the last 4 years. This year we broke the previous high of 113 with 119 species. We birded a variety of habitats across the county for 15.5 hours (with a 30 minute lunch break -looking up of course). It was not a great warbler movement the night before but we did manage to scare up most of the warbler species. A PROTHONTARY was the highlight at Henryton Rd which also hosted CERULEAN, WORM-EATING and YELLOW-THROATED. HOODED and KENTUCKY are back at Rockburn which also netted us NASHVILLE, PRAIRIE, CHAT, CHESTNUT-SIDED and BLACK-THROATED GREEN. Rockburn also had our only BLUE GROSBEAK along with a few ROSE-BREASTED. A BARRED OWL posed for pictures and a COOPER'S HAWK on the nest was ticked for the atlas. We ended the day out in the far west of the county with displaying WOODCOCK, calling owls and WHIP-POOR-WILLS. Next year 120??
