Pleasant) MIME-version: 1.0 Content-type: text/plain; charset=Windows-1252 Content-transfer-encoding: 7BIT I led a trip to Mt. Pleasant on Sunday and although it was cold and overcast we had a nice group of birds. 65 species in all. Most memorable was a singing GRASSHOPPER SPARROW in the scope for extended looks. A number of CHATS singing on territory were delightful. A BLACK-THROATED GREEN and BLACK-THROATED BLUE were the only migrant warblers. Flyover BOBOLINKS were bubbling here and there. MEADOWLARKS on territory along with numerous INDIGO BUNTINGS. A singing male SCARLET TANAGER tried to steal the glory from the grasshopper sparrow and came close. The most unexpected bird was a calling UPLAND SANDPIPER (heard only).
