Hi Paul, After the trip "officially" broke up, Dan Eberly, Mike Moffatt and I went back down into the woods very briefly, where we heard the Hooded Warbler singing from the wooded hillside near the creek. We never did see it though. And Sunday I came back again, hoping for another good day, and found it very quiet. Pat Scheid showed up, and we heard the Hooded again, but this time I was able to locate it fairly easily. Pat said it was in the same location where you had one last year, perhaps the same individual (very close to the "big" odd shaped tulip tree). We also had both oriole species, and a female Indigo Bunting in the very top of a tree, which caused us some confusion, briefly. Also a flyover Common Loon. Sunday I also had a single Chestnut-sided, Ovenbird, and Common yellowthroat, as well as at least 3 female Rose-breasted Grosbeaks feeding in the trees right above the beginning of the trail as it descends into the woods. A Black-throated Green was in the trees behind the first few houses, where I also had a Wood Thrush. I never went too deep into the woods, as it seemed rather quiet, and I was home before 10:30. It was a really pleasant morning, with some very nice birds. Thanks again to you, Michael and Louise.
