Wow, what a difference that period has made with Roosevelt Island going from mostly brown to lush green. Notable birds during today's walk included Louisiana Waterthrush, Scarlet Tanager, the usual pair of Pileated Woodpecker, a singing 1st year male Orchard Oriole and a calling Wood Thrush. The Barn Swallows are back nesting under the access bridge. Except for the waterthrush and numerous yellow-rumps, no other warblers were observed.
