They had = stopped by about 6:15, when other people started to show up. =20 I heard a Hooded Warbler sing twice near the Maintenance Yard clearing, = just as I was leaving the horse path to enter the clearing. =20 Also, I spotted the Bank Swallow she mentioned in her post as it coursed = over picnic areas 17/18. =20 FWIW, in Monticello Park, Alexandria, that great shimmering land across = the Potomac River, there was one Swainson's Thrush singing in the late = morning. =20 Gail Mackiernan said:=20 "Most unexpected -- the almost entire lack of Thrushes of any kind, save = locally-breeding Wood.
