They were on the pond below the dam at 4:30 pm today. Myrtles and Blackpools were abundant, had singles of Redstart, Black-throated Blue, and Balto Oriole. A fly-over Caspian was a nice surprise. Barn, Tree, and Rough-wings were low on the lake, with Barn most abundant. I had a mini-fallout at my workplace in Anne Arundel this morning. In the concrete courtyard with a dozen or so cherry trees, there were at least three Common Yellowthroats, and 1 each of Ovenbird, Redstart, and Blackpoll. The numbers and variety were unlike any previous experience there in some 12 years of keeping track. All these birds bounced off the building, and lived to tell about it.
