Highlight was: 2 Wilson's phalaropes (male & female in alternate plumage interacting). Est. 500 birds inc. at least 3 white-rumped sandpipers plus the more common. About 2/3 of the way to the boat launch on Rumbly Pt. Rd. on the right (past the sanctuary) there is a large mud flat with (at the time ) most of the shorebirds. A short distance past that, also on the right , is a deeper water area with many small "islands". The phalaropes were actively spinning through this area.
