You did an outstanding job and made the Free State proud of you! The Holy Order of Loggerhead Shrikes - MCC / MOS - Pronatura Veracruz team competed in the World Series of Birding on May 10, birding solely in Cape May County, NJ. The team (veterans Andy Rabin, Gordon Gover, Don Simonson and rookie John Hubbell) set a new team record finding 156 species in 24 hours. Some of the "best birds" included White Ibis, Red- necked Grebe and a Parasitic Yeager only 20 yards offshore. The team thanks the members and Board of the Montgomery County Chapter of the Maryland Ornithological Society for their support, and special thanks to all who contributed pledges to Pronatura Veracruz. A full trip report will be sent to all who made pledges (as soon as we catch up on our sleep!) You can still pledge support, visit the team's web site at: www.superpickle.com/shrikes thanks and congratulations again to the youth birders! -Don Simonson, Captain, Holy Order of Loggerhead Shrikes World Series Team don.simonson@comcast.net ======================================================================= To leave the MDOsprey list, send e-mail to listserv@home.ease.lsoft.com with the following message in line 1: signoff mdosprey ======================================================================= =========================================================================
