MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi All, Today I joined Nancy (my dear) on a mission to retrieve a misplaced = Gameboy at Eastern Neck NWR (left there Saturday by our son Ian). On the = way home we stopped to count some Bonaparte's Gulls in the big field = north of the Bass Propagation Lake on Fish Hatchery Road. There were 60 = (all one-year-old) Bonies and 2 Caspian Terns, but the real show was = provided by 130 Black-bellied Plovers strutting inconspicuously further = out in the field. Lots of plumage variation with several birds in = resplendent full alternate (summer) plumage, many in transitional = plumage and quite a few still in basic (winter) plumage - presumably = many of the latter were one-year-olds. Two adult Common Terns remain at = Eastern Neck - they were hanging out with the Least Terns at Bogle's = Wharf today.
