Total numbers of = shorebirds there have dropped dramatically, but those remaining, besides = the White-rumps, included Dunlin (9), Semipalmated Plover (3), and quite = a few Greater Yellowlegs along with many Least Sandpipers. At home here in Tunis Mills a Yellow-billed Cuckoo showed up today, = and there was also a female Orchard Oriole stripping some nesting = material out of one of my walnut trees. A Baltimore Oriole has been = here for two days. Scarlet Tanagers and Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were = singing from several sites along Copperville Road, as were Blackpoll = Warblers, Ovenbirds and Redstarts. A Bobwhite Quail was calling in the = afternoon. Numerous Chats can be heard along Gregory Road these days, = along with Indigo Buntings and Blue Grosbeak.
