The bird popped out for a few seconds and then disappeared into the river bank scrub. It was not singing while I was there, only calling now and then. There were a few migrants around but not large numbers. Two female Red-breasted Mergansers were near the boat ramp in Seneca Creek. Last Thursday morning there was one Red-necked Grebe near the mouth of Seneca Creek.
