It was fairly slow, but as they say, you only need one good bird... and that was a male Mourning Warbler at the equitation field (lower part of the ridge). Dave Apgar heard it in the early morning, and several folks tried to see it without success (it had stopped singing). Barry went back last thing before going home and it was singing again, and he managed to see it briefly but well. A nice male, second one of the spring at Rock Creek that we know of. Other birds seen/heard by Barry included: Warblers: Blackpoll (5), Black-throated Blue (5), Canada (2), Magnolia (8), Myrtle (~20), Ovenbird (5), Parula (2) Redstart (2), Yellowthroat (10). Others: Veery (3), Yellow-billed Cuckoo (1), Scarlet Tanager (8), Swamp Sparrow (1), Least Flycatcher (1) Addendum: As I left for the dog show, I heard a Gray-cheeked Thrush singing in our yard -- something I don't hear very often during migration.
