Despite the inauspicious weather, there were birds around! (In fact, they are probably sticking around -- e.g., we have had a Yellowthroat singing in our back garden for 4 days now). In any case, birds seen and heard include: Warblers: Blackpoll (5), Black-throated Blue (3), Canada (8!), Chestnut-sided (3), Magnolia (12), Myrtle (~30), Redstart (4), Ovenbird (8), Parula (4), Yellowthroat (10), Yellow (1), plus one Black-and-White Warbler female collecting nesting material in dog run and flying off with it into the woods. Other species of note: Veery (4), Swainson's Thrush (3), Yellow-billed Cuckoo (1), Swamp Sparrow (3). Gail Mackiernan and Barry Cooper Colesville, MD p.s. I am looking out the window and there's a round, glowing orb in the sky!
