The Prothonotary Warbler was still very active and vocal in the area described in my posting of May 12 along the river about a quarter of a mile west of the parking area, mainly around a group of snags across the river. I heard a Yellow-throated Warbler singing across from the parking area. We did not see or hear any Cerulean Warblers there. We went on to the McKeldin Area off Marriottsville Rd where a Cerulean Warbler was singing in the same area a little up the purple trail from the white trail about a 1/4 mile east of Marriottsville Rd as described in my message of May 2. We eventually got a few looks at it. I may not have posted that Pete Webb and I also saw a male and a female Cerulean there on May 7. Today we also heard a Y-t Warbler in the same area but closer to the river, but did not see it. Also, 4 Common Nighthawks circled over lower Powells Run Rd, which had one or two vocal Baltimore Orioles, an invisible Chat, one song from a Blue-winged Warbler, and a singing Field Sparrow.
