Still a fairly productive day- 53 species. Highlights were a Yellow-crowned Night Heron, six Ruby-throated Hummingbirds, a Yellow Warbler in a new nesting location, at least 6 Northern Waterthrushes, most of them singing, a singing Kentucky Warbler(now a rare breeder here) and a subadult male Blue Grosbeak. Was also pleased to find 5 Carolina Wrens. I'll find out in a few weeks after I take my breeding surveys how big a hit they took this winter, but I am finding a few most places I go in the area. Nesting highlight was a female Scarlet Tanager building a nest. I never would have found it if she hadn't been calling.
