For example, I don't understand the difference between: Deciduous woods (how wide does it have to be to be woods, for example?): bottomland forest, upland forest, decidious edges, hedgerows, brushy habitat versus weedy habitat. I see birds in my area of Sligo Creek that are only supposed to be seen in "Bottomland habitat," for example. But other birds, characteristic of bottomland habitat never show up. Any good books on habitat. I'd like to really understand the a lot more than I unfortunately do... Kerry Stone Takoma Park, MD Mont.
