Let's think positive: the weather will be good. There are still a few places (5) available on this FONT (Focus On Nature Tours) trip, to be on the "Skipjack" (a boat that's "gone birding" this time of year for years), to waters offshore from both Delaware and Maryland. Departure will be at 4am, to be offshore in the morning, and the return by 4pm. In recent years, birds that have been seen in late May/early June, during pelagic trips out of Lewes, have included: Common Loon, Northern Gannet, Cory's Shearwater, Greater Shearwater, Sooty Shearwater, Manx Shearwater, Wilson's Storm-Petrel, Leach's Storm-Petrel, Pomarine Jaeger, South Polar Skua, Lesser Black-backed Gull, and various terns. The price for the Lewes pelagic trip is $110 per person. Space is limited to 20 participants.
