Last week, someone reported a Surf Scoter, = which still remains. On Sunday, I led a trip to Seneca Creek State Park = for the MOS conference. When the Surf Scoter appeared, it was in the = company of a Redhead. There was also a loon on the lake. The other = highlight of the trip was a Olive-sided Flycatcher at the Visitors = Center. Great trip, with good company, we tallied 75 species. I checked the lake this morning, besides the scoter and Redhead, there = were two Common Loons and a Red-necked Grebe. I went back this = afternoon, and a scaup had joined the others. I had great looks and = believe it to be a Greater Scaup. I welcome others to look for it and = post their thoughts whether it is a Greater or Lesser Scaup. In the = afternoon, four female Red-breasted Mergansers also appeared. I wonder what tomorrow will bring.
