In-Reply-To: <20030528023511.84264.qmail@web20807.mail.yahoo.com> MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Forgive me, Ospreyers, but I believe I may have aided and abetted in the survival of another generation of House Sparrows. I was sitting at my desk when the phone rang. It was one of the maintenance workers, saying they'd knocked a nest down from one of the buildings - they had been working on the light fixtures, and found this nest where they were drilling. I went over, and I'm pretty sure the nest is a HOSP nest - full of cigarette filters, feathers, bits of cellophane wrappers...and five nestlings. There were two adult HOSPs hovering nearby, with either food or nesting material. I told them there wasn't much to do except to re-place the nest somewhere else, which is what I did. I didn't think a lecture on the evils of house sparrows would really sink in much, but you never know... On a totally unrelated note, any e-mail savvy people out there? I have another e-mail account, and someone sent me a huge file that filled up my inbox. I deleted it, and when I went to empty the trash I noticed (after I had hit the 'empty trash' button) that there were e-mails in there that I had never seen before - would they have been deleted if the account was full? I thought they would just bounce back to the sender. Anybody know if you can get e-mail back after it's been deleted? Okay, back to the birds.
