Since the threat level went back to yellow, I figured it would be open. Birds seen while there: Several hundred Double-crested Cormorants. I made a half-hearted attempt to find a Greater Cormorant, but didn't find one. About 200 Great Blue Herons were on the rocks and in the water. More were one the nests in the heronry. 7 Black-crowned Night-Herons - 1 near the dam, 2 at the usual spot near the lower end of Rowland Island and 4 on the small wooded island downstream from Rowland. All were in adult plumage. 13 Bald Eagles - 8 immature, 4 adult and 1 baby on a nest on the left hand tower on the Cecil side. It got up and flapped its wings while I was watching. Neat! This pair of eagles have been trying for about 5 years and they have finally succeeded.
